SUBJECT
Rear Window One-touch Feature Is Inoperative

MODEL
E70 (X5) produced from 7/1/09 to 12/1/09

E71 (X6) produced from 7/1/09 to 12/1/09

SITUATION
The one-touch feature for one or both of the rear windows is inoperative.

CAUSE
Initialization of the window[s] has been lost due to a software error in the junction box electronics (JBBF).

CORRECTION
Program and code the vehicle.

PROCEDURE
Do not replace any parts, as this will not provide a permanent solution.

Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.35.4 or later.

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

Initialize the windows either using the ISTA test plan or manually.
