SUBJECT
The Engine Oil Level Is Displayed as Overfilled
MODEL
E70 X5 3.0 with the N52K engine produced from 9/08 up to 3/09
SITUATION
When the engine oil level is checked in the Central Information Display (CID), it is shown as overfilled, even though the engine does contain the correct fill quantity of oil (6.5 liters / 6.9 quarts).
Also affected are those E70 with N52K produced prior to 9/08, which have been programmed using Progman version V30.0 through V32.1 or ISTA/P 2.32.1. These vehicles can be identified as having a current vehicle integration level of E070-08-09-500-530.
CAUSE
DME software calibration error
CORRECTION
Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.33.0 or later.
Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
