SUBJECT
Seat Backrest Panel Creaks

Includes vehicles up to March 4, 2009 production equipped with leather seats only

SITUATION
The front seat backrest panel creaks under the following conditions:

^ When the vehicle is being driven on rough road surfaces

^ When driving around curves

^ When accelerating or braking

^ When moving on the seat

CAUSE
Insufficient application of anti-squeaking material on the backrest panel leads to noise between the backrest panel and leather cover.

PROCEDURE
Remove the affected seat backrest panel as per the repair manual instructions in ISTA.

REP 5214198 "Removing and installing or replacing rear panel on left or right seat back"

REP 5217205 "Removing and installing/replacing both rear panels on left or right front seat back"

Apply Krytox (P/N 83 19 9 408 523) on the edge of the back panel. Refer to the yellow highlighted area in the attachment to this Service Information.

Please make sure that no lubricant comes into contact on the visible surface of the backrest.
