SUBJECT
Steering Column Position Is Lost with Easy Entry

MODEL
E70 (X5) with either SA459 or SA456 seat options

E71 (X6) with either SA459 or SA456 seat options

Vehicles produced from September 30, 2006 to February 28, 2009

SITUATION
The electric steering column does not return to the previous position with the "Easy Entry" function when the vehicle is restarted.

CAUSE
Seat module software

[NEW] CORRECTION
Program the vehicle using ISTA/P E070-09-03-525 or later.

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
