Tailgate: Adjustments

41 62 033 - Adjusting rear lid lower section





Caution!
Do not damage adjoining body parts.
Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.

Observe gap dimensions .

Note:
The rear lid lower section must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.





Raise trim (1).





Lateral adjustment to rear cut-out:
Slacken screws (1) on rear lid hinge for rear lid lower section until such point that the rear lid lower section can still just be moved.
Adjust rear lid lower section laterally.
Tightening torque 41 62 6AZ [1][2][3]41 62 Rear Lid.
When rear lid lower section is closed, lock strikers must not make contact with or brush against rear lid locks.





Height adjustment with respect to rear lid upper section:
Slacken screws (1) and (2) on rear lid hinge until such stage that rear lid hinge can still be moved.
Tightening torque 41 62 7AZ [1][2][3]41 62 Rear Lid.
Adjust rear lid lower section vertically.
Adjust rear lid lock Adjustments.





After installation:
- Tighten all screws and nuts to specified torque.
- Touch up unpainted surfaces in the appropriate color.
- Check adjustment of rear lid upper section; if necessary, adjust and calibrate reversing camera.
