SUBJECT

MODEL
E70 (X5)

E71 (X6)

E72 (ActiveHybrid X6)

Vehicles produced from 10/1/2006 to 8/31/2010

SITUATION

After a stepper motor replacement and programming of the IHKA control panel with ISTA/P2.37 or higher, the air flow from the vents does not correspond to the selection on the IHKA control panel.

CAUSE

The stepper motors can no longer be addressed due to a software error in the automatic air conditioning system (IHKA) control panel.

[NEW] PROCEDURE
Do not replace IHKA control panel.

^ Program and code the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.39.0 or higher.

^ Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

^ For information on programming and coding with ISTA/P, refer to CenterNet / Aftersales Portal / Service / Workshop Technology / Vehicle Programming.
