52 26 390 Removing and installing or replacing rear left or rear right head restraint (4+1)
IMPORTANT: Head restraints are easier to remove when pressure is applied to the side.
Incorrect procedure
Both retaining clips are moved out of their position when centre head restraint is removed.
Correct procedure:
Pull out head restraint by applying lateral pressure at point (1).
With this version a maximum of one retaining clip is moved out of its position.
Overview:
Head restraint inlay (1) and clamps (2) must be replaced.
New retaining clips are longer and must be protrude in new inlay as shown. See mark.
Detach cover in marked area and remove from head restraint inlay.
Installation note:
Insert new retaining clip (1) into bushing (2).
Check new retaining clip (1) for secure seating.
