Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove ignition key
- Disconnect battery negative lead 61 20 900 Disconnecting and Connecting Battery Negative Lead
- Remove flap in luggage compartment panel on right 51 47 172 Flap In Luggage Compartment Trim, Left or Right





Lift back insulating mat (1).





Disconnect plug connection (1).
Unlock catches (2) and remove control unit (3).





After installation:
- Replacement only: Carry out programming/coding Programming and Relearning
- Replacement only: Carry out ride-height-calibration 37 12 012 Carrying Out Ride-Height-Calibration
