72 12 000 - Removing and installing or replacing airbag module on passenger side

Operations on pyrotechnic devices may only be carried out by authorized experts.
Improper, unauthorized operations may result in serious dangers.
Unauthorized persons are strictly prohibited from performing any operations on this system.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Clamp off battery negative lead 61 20 900 Disconnecting and Connecting Battery Negative Lead
- Remove right glovebox with housing 51 16 366 Removing and Installing Right Glovebox With Housing





Disconnect plug connection (1).

Note:
Plug connections (1) cannot be removed without being destroyed.
Replace defective plug connections (1).





Note:
Secure airbag module (1) on passenger side against falling out.

Release nuts in marked area.

Installation Note:
Replace self-locking nuts.
Tightening torque 72 12 01AZ 72 12 Airbag Modules.

Remove airbag module (1) on passenger side towards bottom.
