Check Control Message: Active Steering Malfunction

Checking the information memory due to a customer experience

Customer experience: Active steering deactivated Check Control message
If this Check Control message appears together with the following MMI text:
- Active steering deactivated
- Modified steering behavior
- Steering wheel might be at an angle
- Driving can continue
- Steer carefully

And, if a fault entry is not stored in the fault memory, this is a temporary fault.

Possible fault cause:
- Skidding
- Engine stalled
- Vehicle moving with engine switched off

The active steering is not faulty.

The information memory can also be checked by calling up the following procedure via the function structure:
B3241_WNAFS - Check Control message: Active steering deactivated
(02 Chassis and suspension | Steering | [!] Current fault patterns | Check Control message: active steering deactivated)

In the event of temporary faults, the following information fault memory codes are stored in the information memory:
- 6028 (decimal: 24616)
- 6029 (decimal: 24617)
- 602A (decimal: 24618)
