Seat Heating Adjustment via the Controller Does Not Work

MODEL
F10 (5 Series)

Only affects vehicles equipped with SA 456 (Comfort Seats) and ZMP (M Sport Package)

Only affects vehicles produced from 9/30/2009 to 9/15/2010

SITUATION

The seat heating adjustments via the controller (distribution of the heat output over the seat backrest/seat bottom) are inoperative.

CAUSE

Seat module software error

PROCEDURE

Do not replace any parts. Perform diagnostics using ISTA (Integrated Service Technical Application) for any fault codes that may pertain to the seat heating function.

Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.39.3 or later.

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
