Service Action: Missing Online Information Services

MODEL
F10 (5 Series)

SITUATION
In the ASSIST menu, the BMW Search button does not populate.

Some 535i vehicles were produced with option 6O9, Navigation, and do not have option 615, Online Information Services.

AFFECTED VEHICLES
This Service Action involves F10 (5 Series) vehicles.

In order to determine whether a specific vehicle is affected by this Service Action, refer to the chassis numbers in the attachment.

Note:
The vehicles affected by this Service Action will not appear on DCS Vehicle History Inquiry Reports.

CORRECTION

Load a new Vehicle Order (VO) to the vehicle and perform overall encoding with ISTA/P.

PROCEDURE

Open a PuMA case requesting a new VO and IBAC Code for Missing Online Services. Start an ISTA/P session and load the VO; the session ends after the VO is loaded to the vehicle. Start another ISTA/P session to perform an overall encoding.

LABEL INSTRUCTIONS

This Service Action has been assigned code number 568. After the vehicle has been checked and/or corrected, obtain a label (SD 92-380) and:

A. Emboss your BMW center warranty number in the middle of the label (1);

B. Punch out code number 568 (2), printed on the label; and





C. Affix the label to the B-pillar as shown.

If the vehicle already has a label from a previous Service Action/Recall Campaign, affix the new label next to the old one. Do not affix one label on top of another one, because a number from an underlying label could appear in the punched-out hole of the new label.
