Tailgate: Adjustments



41 62 033 Adjusting Rear Lid Lower Section







IMPORTANT:
- Do not damage adjoining body components.
- Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.







Read contents of Body, General.
Observe gap dimensions.

NOTE: The rear lid lower section must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.

Following components must be correctly fitted and adjusted:
- Rear lid

When the lower tailgate section is closed, the lock striker must not make contact with or brush against the tailgate lock. If necessary, remove lock striker.







Sideways and vertical adjustment:
Release screws (2) until such stage that the lower tailgate section can still be moved.
Adjust tailgate lower section sideways and vertically.
Tightening torque 41 62 4AZ.







Adjustment in longitudinal direction:

Necessary preliminary tasks:
Remove centre trim panel for tailgate.

Release screws (1) until such stage that the lower tailgate section can still be moved.
Adjust lower tailgate section in longitudinal direction.
Tightening torque 41 62 5AZ.







After Installation note:
- Tighten all screws and nuts to specified torque.
- Touch up unpainted surfaces in the appropriate colour.
- If necessary, adjust rear lid catch.
- If reversing camera optional equipment installed:
Calibrate reversing camera.
