ZF 8HP - Transmission in Safety Mode with Gear 2 Monitoring Fault
MODEL
E70, E71 with 8HP45/70 transmissions produced from 04/2010 to 03/09/2011 F10, F07, F25 with 8HP45/70 transmissions produced to 03/09/2011
SITUATION
The transmission enters safety mode with the transmission lamp illuminated. The EGS gear monitoring fault 420321 (4E9B) "2nd gear to gear X" is stored in the Mechatronic control module.
CAUSE
EGS software
CORRECTION
Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.41.1 or later.
Vehicle integration (new): Fxx (E070)-11-03-501 or later
After programming, clear transmission adaptation values.
Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
