Front Seat, Drivers Side
52 14 001 - Removing and installing front seat, driver's side
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove front CA head restraint
- Remove covers on seat rails Covers On Seat Rails
- Remove outer cover Outer Cover on Left or Right Front Seat
Important!
An airbag module and a pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner are installed in the front seat.
Improper handling can lead to triggering of the pyrotechnical seat belt pretensioner or side airbag, resulting in injuries.
Installation:
- Powerlok screws must be replaced and must not be reused
- Powerlok screws are mechanical screw locks with trilobular threads
Move front seat towards rear.
Release screws (1).
Installation:
Replace screws.
Tightening torque 52 10 01AZ 52 10 Front Seats.
Move front seat forwards.
Release screws.
Installation:
Replace screws.
Tightening torques 52 10 01AZ 52 10 Front Seats.
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 72 11 07AZ [1][2]Seat Belt Systems.
Remove lockplate.
Pull strap (2) out of anchor fitting tensioner.
Installation:
Carpet must not project between seat rail and floor board in area of screw-down points (grinding noises).
Unclip cover (1) towards front.
Release cable tie on plug connection.
Installation:
Replace defective cable tie.
Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.
Unclip wiring harness from seat mechanism.
Important!
Cover door sill with protective covers (risk of damage).
Carefully lift out front seat.
Installation:
Make sure wiring harness is correctly routed in order to avoid grating noises, jamming or collisions.
Clip in cable holder for wiring harness.
Lay wiring harness only in area (1) of cover.
Fitting the wiring harness between the carpet and the cover in control unit area (2) will result in grating noises.
Carry out a complete longitudinal adjustment (forward/back) with front seat.
