Rear phone - currently known fault patterns
This FUB (description of operation) provides information on currently known fault patterns concerning the rear phone on the following vehicles:
- F01, F02 (BMW 7-Series)

A phone can be installed in the rear of the passenger compartment as a supplement to the familiar hands-free systems. The rear phone consists of a snap-in adapter cradle and a handset. The snap-in adapter can be linked to the vehicle's hands-free system with Bluetooth.
The rear phone allows conversations to be conducted in the hands-free mode or privately.

Known fault patterns for the rear phone
The fault patterns are grouped according to content. The fault patterns are described in the left-side column in the following tables. The right column contains possible remedial measures and general information.

Notices regarding mobile phones
- SIM Access Profile (SAP) The SAP profile can be used to link a mobile phone with the headset. SAP allows the rear phone's snap-in adapter to access the mobile phone's SIM card using Bluetooth.
- Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) Before the mobile phone's internal phone book can be transferred to the handset and the control display the mobile phone must support PBAP. The PBAP can only be supported with SAP mobile phones.

Bluetooth connection
