Fault text
Fuel-supply control valve, activation: short circuit to ground
or open circuit

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the electrical connection
between the DME and the flow-control valve.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the voltage between the DME
and the flow-control valve is greater than 3.2 V or less than
1.2 V.
Potential problem source(s):
- Signal wire is shorted to ground or open
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- none

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 0.5 sec.

Action in service
- Check wiring harness to flow-control valve in the high-
pressure pump
- Check operation of flow-control valve activation relay
- Replace high-pressure pump

Fault effect and breakdown warning
Breakdown notice:
- The engine reverts to its limp-home program, continued
vehicle operation is possible but drivability is restricted,
because power is reduced the driver should refrain from
passing maneuvers.
Possible apparent symptoms:
- Reduced power
