Fault text
Charge-air temperature sensor 2, plausibility: signal hangs

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors whether the boost-air
temperature at Bank 2 changes under conditions in which
the signal should vary.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the difference between the
minimum and maximum recorded boost-air temperature 2 is
less than 1.5 °C.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defect in wiring harness
- Charge air temperature sensor defective
Terminal condition: none
Voltage condition:
- None
Temperature condition:
- Ambient temperature between -7.5 °C and 35.3 °C
Time condition:
- Time after end of start phase > 65 sec.
Other conditions:
- 2 x (load phase 60 sec. + idle 40 sec.)

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 10 sec.

Action in service
- Visual inspection of the sensor and its wiring
- Measure sensor wire, power supply and ground
- Replace sensor
