Throttle valve 2, sluggish: too slow

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors repositioning of throttle
valve 2 based on a comparison of specified and actual data.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the actual value trails the
specified value with excessive lag.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defect in power supply to DME
- Defect in wiring harness between DME and throttle valve
2
- Throttle valve 2 defective

Other conditions:
- Engine on

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 1 sec.

Action in service
- Check power supply to DME
- Check wiring harness between DME and throttle valve 2
- Open throttle valve 2 manually, if it does not smoothly and
consistently return to its closed position, then replace the
throttle valve

Fault effect and breakdown warning
Breakdown notice:
- The engine reverts to its limp-home program, continued
vehicle operation is possible but drivability is restricted,
because power is reduced the driver should refrain from
passing maneuvers.
Possible apparent symptoms:
- Power reduction
- Engine speed governed
