Fault text
Coolant pump for intercooler, deactivation: Overvoltage

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the voltage of the
intercooler water pump.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the voltage at the intercooler's
water pump rises above 20.5 V.
Potential problem source(s):
- Systematic fault in vehicle, for instance, jump start with
24 V
- Intercooler water pump defective
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- No faults should be present on the LIN bus

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 10 sec.

Action in service
- When the logged diagnostic fault codes indicate
overvoltage at multiple control modules then a systematic
fault is present in the vehicle
- If only the diagnostic fault code for the intercooler water
pump is stored then the problem lies with the power-supply
voltage
- Replace intercooler water pump

Fault effect and breakdown warning
Breakdown notice:
- none
Possible apparent symptoms:
- Reduced power

Driver information
Warning light:
- ECE emissions warning lamp: off
- US emissions warning lamp: off
- ECE electronic engine power reduction: off
- US electronic engine power reduction: off
