Fault text
Accelerator-pedal module, internal fault, channel 2: voltage
regulator

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the power-supply voltage
to sensor 2 on the accelerator pedal module.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the power-supply voltage at
accelerator pedal module sensor 2 varies from 5V by more
than 0.21 V.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defect in power-supply voltage to sensor 2 at the
accelerator pedal module
- E7X: DME main relay displays lag when switching
- Defective DME

Other conditions:
- none

Condition for fault memory entry
The diagnostic fault code is logged when the fault persists
for longer than 200 ms.

Action in service
Check power-supply voltage to pedal-travel sensor
- E7X: Determine whether a diagnostic fault code related to
the DME main relay has been logged
- Replace the DME

Fault effect and breakdown warning
Breakdown notice:
- The engine reverts to its limp-home program, continued
vehicle operation is possible but drivability is restricted,
because power is reduced the driver should refrain from
passing maneuvers.
Possible apparent symptoms:
- Power reduction
- Engine speed governed
