Temperature sensor, radiator outlet, plausibility: signal
above threshold

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the value from the
temperature sensor at the radiator discharge during engine
starts.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the temperature at the radiator
discharge fitting is more than 20 °C above the engine
temperature.
Potential problem source(s):
- Sensor defective
Terminal condition: none
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 11 V
Temperature condition:
- Engine temperature < -9.75 °C and intake-air temperature
< -9.75 °C
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- Engine on

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory
immediately.

Action in service
- Check wiring harness between DME and sensor
- Replace sensor

Possible apparent symptoms:
- Possible slight reduction in power
- Fan rotates at high speed
