Alternator, regulator: model incorrect

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors alternator's code and
compares it with the specified value.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the regulator code does not
match the code stored in the DME.
Potential problem source(s):
- Incorrect regulator installed
Terminal condition: none
Voltage condition:
- Alternator specified voltage one time for at least 5 sec.:
exceeds electrical system voltage + 1.0 V or greater than 14
V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- 10 sec.
Other conditions:
- Engine on
- Alternator not fully loaded
- No diagnostic fault codes stored for alternator

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 25.5 sec.

Action in service
- If the fault frequency is less than or equal to 3, clear the
control module fault memory and do not take any further
action
- If the fault frequency is > 3, then replace the alternator
