Bit-serial data interface, signal: communication fault

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the BSD.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when communications interference
is present.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defective components on BSD
- Defective BSD
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- none

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 10 sec.

Action in service
- Unplug all components on the BSD with the exception of
the oil condition sensor, clear diagnostic fault codes from
the control module fault memory and then ignition off/on. If
the diagnostic fault code is logged again this means that the
oil condition sensor is defective.
- Reconnect all of the remaining devices on the BSD one
after the other, clear the control module fault memory, and
then switch the ignition off/on, continuing until the defective
component is found.
- If the fault is not found, check the BSD.
- If the fault appears sporadically then check all contacts on
the BSD.
