51 16 045 Removing And Installing Or Replacing Retaining Ring On Left Or Right Exterior Mirror







Operations on right side analogous to left side shown. Use graphics in a mirror-inverted way.







Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove protective cap from exterior mirror







Release screws (1) from retaining ring (2).
Carefully pull of retaining ring.

NOTE: Flip exterior mirror outward for easier dismantling of retaining ring.







Installation note:
Plastic nose of cover ring must engage in aluminium housing of mirror base.
The housing shells of the exterior mirror must snap together.
