51 24 146 Removing And Installing/Replacing Button For Tailgate Activation

Special tools required:







With special tool 00 9 327, drive under front edge of button (1) and carefully lever out retaining tabs of button (1) at the marked points.

Installation note:
Retaining tabs on button (1) must not be damaged.

Pull button (1) out of tailgate (2).







For reversing camera optional extra only:
Unclip reversing camera (1) left and right and feed out of button holders (2).

Installation note:
Seal (3) of reversing camera (1) must not be damaged and must be installed.







Disconnect plug (1) from microswitch and remove button (2).

Installation note:
Perform function check with tailgate open.







Replacement:
Carefully release latch mechanisms (1) from button frames and remove microswitch (2).

Installation note:
Correctly snap in microswitch (1) and check mechanical function.
