51 16 240 Removing And Installing/Replacing Rear Storage Box


Special tools required:







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove side carpet from storage compartment on left and right
- Remove centre
console cover (gear selector switch)
- Remove AV connecting socket cover
- Version with rear-cabin monitor:
Remove cover from rear cabin monitor at front
- Version with eject box:
Remove eject box







Version without rear cabin monitor:

Lever cover (1) out of centre console in the direction of arrow with special tool 00 9 317.
Installation note:
Replace faulty clamps (2).







Release left and right screws (1).







Release screws (1) and raise storage box (2).
If necessary, disconnect plug connection for storage box LED.
Remove storage box (2).







Replacement:
Remove centre armrest from storage compartment on left and right
If necessary, remove storage box LED.







Replacement before 05/2011:
Break out ribs (1) with pliers.
