Fuel Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair
13 53 560 - Removing and installing/replacing pressure sensor on pressure accumulator of fuel injection system (M57TU, M57T2)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DDE control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
- Switch off ignition
- Remove acoustic cover
Important!
Protect alternator against fuel.
Cover alternator with suitable apparatus (risk of damage).
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Unlock plug (1) and remove.
Note:
Grip at hexagon head (2) when removing pressure sensor.
Release hexagon screw connection (3) on pressure accumulator.
Installation:
Secure position of pressure sensor and grip at hexagon head (2).
Tighten down hexagon screw connection (3).
Tightening torque 13 53 9AZ [1][2]13 53 Fuel Injection Nozzles and Lines.
Important!
EU4 only.
Reset quantity mean value adaptation with BMW diagnosis system.
Now clear the fault memory.
Check system for leaks.
