Glow Plug Relay: Service and Repair

12 21 500 - Removing and installing/replacing relay for glow elements (M57TU, M57T2)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DDE control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
- Switch off ignition
- Disconnect battery negative lead 61 20 900 Disconnecting and Connecting Battery Negative Lead





Release plug connector (1) and pull off.
Unlock and detach plug connection (3).
Unscrew nuts (2).
Remove preheating relay (4).

Note:
For purposes of clarity, illustration shows coolant hoses removed.





Check function of DDE.
