SUBJECT
M57Y - FC 4BC3 Exhaust Gas Temperature Controller, Plausibility

MODEL
E70 and E90 with M57Y

SITUATION

During diagnosis, the fault code 4BC3 (4BC3 exhaust gas temperature controller, plausibility) is stored in the DDE.

CAUSE

This fault code is generated due to a software calibration error in the DDE.

INFORMATION

Do not replace any parts. Reprogram the DDE with ISTA/P 2.39.3 or higher.

Note:
The DDE will not come up as needing programming on an E70 with an I-level of E070-10-03-5XX with 2.39.3. The DDE will need to be manually selected for programming in the Action List screen before continuing with the Measures plan.
