16 12 ... - Replacing outer fuel filter





Important!
Ensure adequate ventilation in the place of work!
Avoid contact with skin!
Avoid contact with eyes!
Fuel escapes when fuel lines are detached. Have a collecting container ready.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove side left underbody panelling 51 47 ... Removing and Installing/Replacing Left or Right Underbody Panelling
- Remove tank underride protection 51 47 ... Removing and Installing/Replacing Left or Right Underbody Panelling on left

Important!
Fuel in fuel lines is under pressure
Fuel escapes when fuel lines (1) are disconnected!
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.





Release single-ear clip (1) and detach pressure reference line.

Installation Note:
Replace single-ear clip.

Detach fuel feed lines (2).

Detach fuel return line (3).
Release screws (4) and remove bracket.

Installation Note:
Tightening torque 16 12 3AZ 16 12 Fuel Delivery.

Remove fuel filter (5).

Installation Note:
After completing tasks, check fuel system for leaks.
