N55 - DMTL Fault 3227 Is Stored

MODEL
E70 (X5) and E71 (X6) with the N55 engine produced up to 2/2011

SITUATION

The Service Engine Soon (MIL) lamp may be illuminated with the following fault stored in the DME:

^ 3227: DMTL leak diagnosis pump, activation: Line disconnection

CAUSE

DME diagnostic software sensitivity

CORRECTION

Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.40.3 or later.

Vehicle integration (new): E070-10-12-503 or later

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
