SUBJECT
Engine Idle Speed Dips Too Low While Braking at Lower Vehicle Speeds

MODEL
[NEW] E89 with the N52K engine and automatic transmission, produced to 2/29/2012.

SITUATION
The engine speed may drop too low when slowing to a stop, braking at low road speeds, or while parking the car.

This occurs intermittently, but can be more apparent when the automatic transmission selector lever is in the "Sport mode" position.

CAUSE
Unfavorable DME software application

[NEW] CORRECTION
Note: The first software improvements were not sufficiently effective in some cases.

Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.48.1 or later.

Vehicle integration (new): E89X-12-07-508 or later

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

Note: When the ISTA system message displays:

Battery voltage only "XX.XX" V. Please connect charger.
