Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair

51 32 170 - Removing and installing/replacing door window glass, front left or right





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove inner window cavity cover strip 51 21 330 Removing and Installing/Replacing Window Cavity Cover Strip on Inner Front Door
- Remove outer window cavity cover strip 51 21 300 Removing and Installing/Replacing Window Cavity Cover Strip on Outside of Left or Right Front Door
- Remove front door trim
- Remove acoustic insulation





Warning!
Risk of injury!
Carry out work on the power window unit only when the power window motor is de-energized.





Door window glass (1) must be opened to dimension (A).
A= - approx. 110 mm





Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 21 16AZ [1][2]Door Locks.
Remove adapter (2).





Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 21 13AZ [1][2]Door Locks.
Remove H-strut (2).





Note:
Power window unit is shown removed.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 32 2AZ 51 32 Front Door Windows.
Remove door window glass (2).

Installation:
Insert door window glass (2) in clamping plates (3).
Adjust door window glass.
Check function.





When replacing door window glass:
Remove clamping plate (1) from door window glass (2).
