51 11 050 Removing And Installing/Replacing Support For Front Bumper Trim







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove front bumper panel

F12 only:
- Remove right headlight







Remove impact absorber (1) towards front.







Installation note:
Place impact absorber (2) on support for bumper trim, then press on at top.

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage to retaining lugs.







Disconnect connector connections (1) from fanfare horn (2) on left and right.







Unclip wiring harness along marking (1).
Drill out blind rivet (2).

If ACC optional equipment is installed:
Unfasten plug connection (3) and disconnect.
Drill off blind rivets (4).







Release screws (1) on support (3).
Tightening torque 51 11 4AZ.

Installation note:
Replace self-locking screws.

Correctly install reinforcement plate (2) on left within the support.







Replacement
Reposition adapter plates (1) and plastic nuts.
Drill out blind rivet. Reposition holder for fanfare horn (2).
Drill out blind rivet. Reposition holder (3), centre.
Detach screw connection (4) from reinforcement plate (5).
Tightening torque 51 11 4AZ.
Reposition reinforcement plate (5).

Installation note:
Replace self-locking screws.
Only tighten screw connection (4) after installing support on deformation element.
