41 62 043 Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Hinge For Tailgate







Read contents of Body, General Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Connect charger to battery
- Remove gas pressure spring
- Remove water channel cover







Fully open the soft top compartment lid as shown.

WARNING:
- Danger of injury by trapping.
- Soft top compartment lid lowers after approx. 20 sec. when the ignition is switched off.
- When the ignition is switched on, the soft top compartment lid lowers after approx. 20 sec.







Secure soft top compartment lid against lowering.
Unscrew nuts (1).
Tightening torque 41 62 2AZ.
Close soft top compartment lid.







Open tailgate.
Undo latch mechanisms and disconnect holder (1) for wiring harness from hinge.







Secure tailgate against falling down with a second person.
Undo nut (1) and remove ground cable.
Tightening torque 41 62 8AZ.
Release nuts (2) and remove hinge from tailgate.
Tightening torque 41 62 1AZ.







Release screw (1) and remove hinge (2).

Installation note:
Tightening torque 41 62 2AZ.
Adjust hinge together with tailgate.
