51 16 227 Removing and installing/replacing trim on centre console at side left or right







When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).







Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove rear seat
- Completely move the front seat down and to the back and fold backrest to the rear.







NOTE: Cover the armrest in the marked area (1) to protect the armrest from scratches.

Unclip the cover on the side of the centre console (2) from back to front and carefully feed it out toward the top.







Installation note:
Driver's side only:
Retaining clips (1) must not be missing or damaged.







Installation note:
Driver's side only (L):
Retaining clips (2) must not be missing or damaged.

Replacement
- Modify retainer clamps (1).
