54 62 005 Removing and installing/replacing rollover protection system







WARNING:
Danger of injury.
When a rollover bar is mechanically triggered, only one person may be present underneath the rollover bar.
Mechanically remove rollover bar left and right







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Place soft top in soft top compartment (open) and support soft top compartment lid in service position
- Remove air outlet ornamental grille







Unlock and disconnect plug connections for control unit of wireless remote control (1) and back-up aerial (2).
Unclip cable clip of rollover protection system.







Unlock plug connection (1) on left and right and disconnect.







Release screws (1) and remove crossmembers (2) on left and right.
Tightening torque 54 62 04AZ.







Release screws (1) on left and right.
Tightening torque 54 62 01AZ.







Release screws (1) and remove screw plates.

Installation note:
Replace screws (1).
Tightening torque 54 62 03AZ.







Release screws (1) from bracket.
Tightening torque 54 62 02AZ.
Remove the roll bar.

Installation note:
Retract rollover bar and perform a mechanical function check.
