54 34 333 Install/remove/replace rail for the central roof frame gasket on the left and right







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove cover for the central linkage on the left and right







WARNING:
Soft top becomes pressureless without a warning signal.
For all repair work, secure soft top with a suitable support tool against collapsing.
Ensure soft top is supported in the middle.
Ignition must remain switched off during the repair work.
Failure to comply with this instruction may result in the hydraulic valves incurring preliminary damage.







IMPORTANT:
Before undoing nuts, make a note of the number of spacers at the respective bolting point.
Soft top is taught in at the factory.
Release combination nuts (1).
Carefully remove the central roof frame including the spacer plates.







Installation note:
Roof frame gasket must be flush with front and rear seals.
Distance between gaskets = 0.5 mm.
Adjust gasket over spacer plates (see BMW Parts Department).
Side windows must run into gasket correctly and rest in gasket over entire width.
Run a function check.
Check and adjust (if applicable) the setting of the side windows.







Replacement only:
Remove roof frame gasket on the left or right.
