51 37 ... Adjusting the rear left and right window cavity gap

Special tools required:







IMPORTANT: The rear side window cavity gap is carefully adjusted at the factory.

Recommendation:
Only perform adjusting procedures on the rear side window cavity gap if absolutely necessary.

IMPORTANT: Do not forcefully close the door during the measurement and adjustment procedure (window glass breakage).

Prerequisite:
- Vehicle must stand on level ground on its wheels







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Charge battery
(Full operability of the power windows during the adjustment procedure is only assured with an external power supply)
- Remove outer window cavity weather strip







1. Measure the cavity gap:
Determine the cavity gap using special tool 51 0 342 from rear side window (1) horizontally to the inner edge of flare flange (2) along the entire cavity length.

Dimension in mm 10,5 ±1
Measured From rear side window (1) horizontally to inner edge of flare flange (2)







2. Adjust cavity gap:

2.1. Prerequisites:
- Rear side trim panel has been removed

2.2. Adjusting:
Release self-locking screws (2) from connecting bracket (1) (replace self-locking screws).
Tightening torque 51 37 3AZ.
Adjust cavity gap by moving connecting bracket (1).
Remeasure cavity gap and repeat adjustment procedure if necessary.







If adjustments were made to the cavity gap:
- Adjust the rear side window
