32 31 102 Replacing Steering Shaft Sleeve







Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove exhaust system (N63 only)
- Remove heat shield (N63 only)
- Remove universal joint with lower corrugated tubing
- Remove cover of pedal mechanism







Press in latch mechanism from the footwell and press out sleeve (1) from the bulkhead.







Release bolts and remove bulkhead cover (1) with gaiter.







Check installation position.
Press sleeve (1) from the engine compartment out into the bulkhead.
Latch mechanisms of the sleeve must noticeably engage.
Visual inspection in the footwell.
Spray sealing lip (2) of the sleeve with silicone spray.
Mount bulkhead cover.
Make sure sealing lip is correctly seated.
