54 34 300 Removing and installing/replacing rear window
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove gasket for rear window
- Move rear window down
NOTE: In the case of a defective electric motor for rear window, this must be cranked down via the emergency operation.
Adhere adhesive tape (1) over the window edge at left, right and centre.
Close rear window and mark on adhesive tape (1) underneath window guide.
Release screws.
Tightening torque 54 34 02AZ.
Release left and right screws (1).
Tightening torque 54 34 03AZ.
Remove pressure plate (2).
Unclip fixed part and carefully tilt rear window forwards.
Installation note:
Ensure fixed part is correctly latched.
Disconnect plug connection (1) for heating on left and right.
Remove rear window.
Installation note:
Adjust rear window height and lateral positioning.
Close rear window and adjust to mark (A).
Replacement:
Retraction depth (A) = Set to 14 mm.
Centre rear window at bore hole (1) on left and right.
WARNING:
Power windows unit has no antitrapping mechanism.
Lower rear window as far as lowermost position (signal for hall effect sensor for rear window down). End position of rear window down is thus detected.
Run a function check.
