Produced to September 20, 2012

SITUATION
A rattling or clattering noise may be heard from the front glove compartment area when driving on rough roads.

CAUSE
The upper storage compartment, or (multimedia changer MMC, if equipped) holder makes contact with the glove compartment housing.

PROCEDURE
Confirm the rattling noise is coming from the glove compartment housing area.

1. The area of concern is when the upper storage compartment makes contact with the glove compartment.

2. Remove the upper storage panel. Refer to ISTA Repair Instructions 51 45 460, "Remove and refit or replace the upper the instrument panel storage compartment." Apply a felt strip (35x35x2 mm) to the storage compartment as shown in white.

Note:
Install the felt strip between the two existing felt strips. Position the new felt strip in the same exact position as the existing felt strips.

Reinstall all removed parts in the reverse order of their removal.
