Keyless Start System - Intermittent No Start And Key Detected

SUBJECT
Key Intermittently Not Detected and Not Possible to Start Engine

Produced from June 30, 2011 to July 1, 2012

SITUATION
Intermittently it is not possible to start the engine.

Terminal 15 cannot be switched on.

The remote control key is not detected inside the vehicle.

The following check control messages are displayed:

^ "Remote control not present or disrupted. Not possible to start engine"

^ "No remote control. Not possible to start engine"

Note:
The vehicle can still be started via the emergency start coil on the side of the steering column.

CAUSE
Front Electronic Module (FEM) software error

CORRECTION
Update the vehicle software using ISTA/P 2.47.2 or higher.

PROCEDURE
Do not replace parts.

1. Perform vehicle diagnosis using ISTA. Troubleshoot any related faults that are stored.

Note:
When the ISTA system message displays: "Battery voltage only "XX.XX" V. Please connect charger," please note the displayed battery voltage reading in the repair order comments section.

2. Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.47.2 or higher.

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
