SUBJECT
Clock Runs Extremely Slow or Not At All After Resetting
MODEL
F30
Produced from July 1, 2012 to September 30, 2012
With option ZTP (Technology Package)
SITUATION
After resetting the clock time following a battery disconnect or discharged, the clock time (minutes) advances at very slow rate. For example, the clock time advances only 1 or 2 minutes per hour instead of 60.
CAUSE
Instrument cluster application error
PROCEDURE
1. After resetting the clock time, verify the clock time is advancing at a normal rate (after 5 or 10 minutes).
2. If the clock time is not advancing correctly, perform a battery reset; recheck that the clock is now functioning correctly.
3. If the problem is still present, replace the instrument cluster.
