Power Door Locks - Inoperative With RPO Code A43
POWER MIRRORS INOPERATIVE WITH RPO CODE A43DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
- An intermittent power mirrors inoperative fault may be caused by an open outside rearview mirror switch ground circuit. When the outside rearview mirror switch ground circuit is open, the switch may seek a ground path through the illumination ground circuit.
- An intermittent driver outside rearview mirror malfunction may be caused by an open driver mirror motor left control circuit. When the driver mirror motor left control circuit is open, the driver mirror motor may seek an alternate circuit path through the passenger mirror motor.
- An intermittent passenger outside rearview mirror malfunction may be caused by an open passenger mirror motor left control circuit. When the passenger mirror motor left control circuit is open, the passenger mirror motor may seek an alternate circuit path through the driver mirror motor.
TEST DESCRIPTION
Steps 1 - 7:
Steps 8 - 12:
Steps 13 - 19:
Steps 20 - 26:
Steps 27 - 30:
3. Tests for an open in the outside rearview mirror switch ground circuit. If the mirror switch ground circuit is open, turning on the headlamps will remove the alternate ground path through the illumination ground circuit.
4. Tests to see if the malfunction is on the switch side of the MSM, or the mirror motor side.
7. Tests for a short to ground in the mirror switch or motor control circuits.
8. Tests for an open or short to ground in the mirror switch supply voltage circuit.
10. Tests for an open or short to ground in the mirror motor.
11. Tests for an open or short to ground in the mirror motor assembly.
