End Gate Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - End Gate (Trim Panel Replacement - End Gate) .
2. Remove the endgate water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - End Gate (Water Deflector Replacement - End Gate) .
3. Remove the endgate handle. Refer to Handle Replacement - End Gate (Handle Replacement - End Gate) .
4. Remove the endgate bellcrank. Refer to Bellcrank Replacement - End Gate (Bellcrank Replacement - End Gate) .
5. Remove the endgate latches. Refer to Latch Replacement - End Gate (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the liftgate latches. Refer to Latch Replacement - Lift Gate (Aztek) (Latch Replacement - Lift Gate (Aztek))Latch Replacement - Lift Gate (Rendezvous) (Latch Replacement - Lift Gate (Rendezvous)) .
7. Remove the endgate lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - End Gate (Service and Repair) .
8. Remove the endgate weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - End Gate (Service and Repair) .




9. Remove the endgate hinge bolts.




10. Remove the endgate from the vehicle, with an assistant.
11. Remove the endgate wiring harness.
12. Remove the endgate rear panel molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rear Panel (Molding Replacement - Rear Panel) .



Installation Procedure





1. Align the endgate to the vehicle, with an assistant.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the endgate hinge bolts.

Tighten the endgate hinge bolts to 33 N.m (28 lb ft).

3. Install the endgate rear panel molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rear Panel (Molding Replacement - Rear Panel) .
4. Install the endgate wiring harness.
5. Install the endgate weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - End Gate (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the endgate lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - End Gate (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the liftgate latches. Refer to Latch Replacement - Lift Gate (Aztek) (Latch Replacement - Lift Gate (Aztek))Latch Replacement - Lift Gate (Rendezvous) (Latch Replacement - Lift Gate (Rendezvous)) .
8. Install the endgate latches. Refer to Latch Replacement - End Gate (Service and Repair)
9. Install the endgate bellcrank. Refer to Bellcrank Replacement - End Gate (Bellcrank Replacement - End Gate) .
10. Install the endgate handle. Refer to Handle Replacement - End Gate (Handle Replacement - End Gate) .
11. Install the endgate water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - End Gate (Water Deflector Replacement - End Gate) .
12. Install the endgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - End Gate (Trim Panel Replacement - End Gate) .
