Linear Shift
Linear Shift Assembly Replacement - On VehicleRemoval Procedure
1. Disable the SIR System.
2. Remove the steering column trim covers.
3. Remove the shift lever retaining screw.
4. Remove the shift lever.
5. Remove the linear shift assembly retaining screws.
6. Twist to remove the linear shift park lock cable from the lock housing.
7. Remove the electrical connector.
8. Remove the liner shift assembly.
Installation Procedure
Important: If the lock cylinder does not rotate to off/lock position, the linear shift park lock cable needs to be adjusted.
1. Install the linear shift assembly.
2. Connect the electrical connector.
3. Twist to install the linear shift park lock cable into the lock housing.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the retaining screws.
^ Tighten the screws to 13 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the shift lever.
6. Install the shift lever retaining screw.
^ Tighten the shift lever retaining screw to 6.67 Nm (1.5 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the steering column trim covers.
8. Enable the SIR system.
