Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair

Window Replacement - Front Door

Removal Procedure





1. Position the front door window in the full down position.
2. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Aztek) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Aztek))Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Rendezvous) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Rendezvous)) .
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door Service and Repair
4. Remove the outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer (Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement) .
5. Remove the window weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door Window (Door Window Weatherstrip) .
6. Loosen the bolts (1) to the front and rear clevice clamps.




7. Remove the window from the outside of the front door.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the window between the inner and the outer door panels.
2. Point the lower front corner of the window down and pass through the belt opening.
3. Align the edges with the window weatherstrip channel.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Turn the window to a horizontal position and align the window with the front and rear clevice clamps.

Tighten the front and rear clevice clamps bolts (1) to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

5. Install the window weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door Window (Door Window Weatherstrip) .

Important: Do not allow the sealing lips on the outer belt sealing strip to roll over and point downwards. If this condition is present the window will not raise properly.


6. Install the outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer (Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement) .
7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door Service and Repair
8. Install the inner trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Aztek) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Aztek))Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Rendezvous) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Rendezvous)) .
