Receiver Replacement - Digital Radio

RECEIVER REPLACEMENT - DIGITAL RADIO

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Do NOT swap digital radio receivers between vehicles. Swapping digital receivers between vehicles will activate the digital radio Theftlock(R), and "XM Theftlock(R)" will display.




1. Lower the right closeout insulator panel.
2. Remove the electrical connector (1) from the receiver




3. Remove the antenna electrical connector (1) from the receiver.




4. Remove the nuts retaining the receiver to the insulator panel.
5. Remove the receiver from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the receiver near the insulator panel.
2. Install the antenna electrical connector (1) to the receiver.




3. Install the electrical connector (1) to the receiver.




4. Install the receiver to the insulator panel.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the nuts retaining the receiver to the insulator panel.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

6. Install the right closeout insulator panel.
7. Perform the setup procedure for the digital radio receiver.

IMPORTANT: After replacement of an XM Radio receiver, call XM Radio to deactivate the receiver that has been removed from the vehicle and activate the new XM Radio receiver.

The vehicle must be parked outside in an open area within 24 hours after an activation call.

8. Turn the radio on, tune to the XM channel 0, and record the radio ID from the radio.
The ID will be needed for activation of the new receiver.
9. Call XM Radio at 1-800-556-3600 to deactivate the faulty receiver and activate the new receiver.
10. Park the vehicle outside in an area with an unobstructed view of the southern sky.
11. Leave the vehicle outside with the ignition switch in the ACC position and the radio turned ON for 30 minutes to activate XM service.
12. Once activated the radio will receive the remaining XM Radio channels.
